Cathy：I've worked here as a receptionist for about a year,and I'd like to have a chance for advancement.

Eric：Yes,I know that and I am considering giving you an opportunity in another department.

凯西：我在这做前台已经一年了，我期望一个升迁的机会。

艾瑞克：是的，我了解情况，我也在考虑在另一部门给你一个机会。

Eric：What job are you applying for?

Cathy：I'd like an office job in the personnel depart-ment.

Eric：Do you understand the duties?

Cathy：I'm not quite sure,but I think it should be typ-ing,filing and answering phones.

Eric：Do you understand the probation?

Cathy：Yes,I think so.I have 30 days to learn the new job,right?

Cathy：Could I put in for a transfer?

Eric：May I ask the reason first?

Cathy：A transfer?Why should you want to do that?

Eric：There are many reasons.

Cathy：To be frank,I'd like to ask you for a transfer.

Eric：Yes.But why?

Eric：One thing I want to tell you is that you will get a pay raise when you start your new position.

Cathy：That will be really helpful to my life.

艾瑞克：有件事我想告诉你，你到了新岗位薪水会相应提高一点。

凯西：那我的生活确实会宽裕一点。

Eric：I hope you can keep working hard no matter where you work.

Cathy：I'll try my best to learn the new job.

Eric：Do you really want to go to a new department?

Cathy：Yes.Because it's hard for me to get promoted here.
