Fresh water is a necessity in human’s daily life but how to use it varies in different societies. Some people take unlimited water consumption for granted, but others think that it is governments’ obligation to control fresh water as it is limited.

It is true that most residents in developed countries and coastal nations do not need to worry about the shortage of fresh water. Sophisticated infrastructures and sufficient precipitation can guarantee sufficient water supply. What all these occupants need to do is paying the bills. They can use as much water as they want as long as they can afford it. Thus, it is undoubted that some of them hold the opinion that they can utilize the resource freely.

It may be true that many other people do not need to concern about water consumption, but it is also a fact that a large number of inhabitants in many developing countries have no access to clean water because of its scarcity. In those countries, natural environment and climate like droughts have a negative effect on water supply. What makes things worse, the poor situation makes water even more precious. If people use as much water as they want in those areas, it can almost be sure that water supply will fail to meet some people’s daily need. Therefore, it is reasonable that local officials limit the individual water use and punish the people who waste it.

In my opinion, fresh water should not be used without any restrictions. Water supply depends so heavily on natural environment that it can be regarded as limited resource in some countries. Water conservation, whether it is advocated by government or not, is what people should insist on.

Art classes like painting and drawing are as important as other subjects. So they should be compulsory in high school education. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Schools should only offer subjects that are beneficial to students' future career success. Other subjects, such as music and sports, are not important. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

关于compulsory(强制,必修)的题目有:

Some people believe that unpaid community service should be acompulsory part of high school programs (for example working for a charity, improving the neighborhood or teaching sports to younger children). To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Art classes like painting and drawing are asimportant as other subjects. So they should be compulsory in high schooleducation. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

No one can deny the importance of art to the well-being of mankind:art enlightens people, expresses human emotions and provides spiritual enjoyment. It has also been scientifically proven that engaging in some art activitiessuch as drawing a picture or playing a musical instrument can help a child todevelop hand-eye coordination, color recognition and imagination effectively. However, reaching the conclusion that art is important is not the same asassuming that art classes should be a mandatory part of high school curriculum.

First, compulsory art classes will be very unpopular among highschool students who aim at universities or colleges which do not requireperformance in art-related subjects for admission. These students would naturallyprefer to focus on enhancing GPA and participating in social activities thatare essential for their future university application. The class attendance, assignment and preparation for exams entailed by a compulsory course willinevitably add burden to students' ever-growing list of demands.

Even if some institutions of tertiary education do requirecandidates' competence in art, such competence is unlikely to be provided by thegeneral art education in a non-art-specializing school. So it will be betterfor students who have special demands in art either to attend an art school orto seek extra help from other artistically-professional organizations.

Second, interest and talent in art are not universal. Somestudents may feel sleepy at the very thought of attending an art class; othersmay enjoy appreciating a beautiful painting or listening to a piece of music, but they do not like the idea of having to draw a picture or play a musicalinstrument themselves. As a result, art classes might bring these students asense of frustration, causing them to link art classes to something unpleasant. This is especially true when considering that many students tend to develop anaversion to things that they are forced to do but that are not directly relatedto their future.

Finally, disapproving compulsory art educationin high school does not mean that students are denied the chance of receivingproper art education. Schools may well offer elective courses in painting, drawing or music for interested students to take. This will ensure that theneeds of some students are met without having to make other students feelunnecessarily overburdened or frustrated. To sum up, art is important, butforcing high school students to attend art classes may defeat the very purposeof art education.

It is widely acknowledged that a school should be a place for children to get educated, which does not only include the learning of textbook knowledge, but also the formation of good behavior, I suppose.

Obviously, a person’s behavior reflects his/her characteristics and morals to some extent, which forms the impression of individuals leaving on others. For example, people who usually help others and seldom break rules are generally considered to be well-educated citizens and are often highly spoken by others. By contrast, if a teenager who always bullies peers or damages public property are seen as a “bad student” and being unpopular among classmates. Therefore, to behave well exerts a great impact on a person’s social life, which is by no means less important than some subject-related knowledge.

Considering the significance of good behavior mentioned above, schools should definitely attach more importance to the behavioral education. As schooling is one of the most essential components contributing to young people’s future development, schools should also play the role of imparting discipline to the next generation rather than focusing on the school subjects such as mathematics, language and science. Only through this way may arouse students’ attention in developing good behavior and improve a nation’s overall image from the long term.

To conclude, the function of schools should be far beyond providing knowledge. To better prepare students for their future, they should introduce and emphasise the education in the behavioural aspect and involve it in the daily curriculum or teaching activities.

The revolution of education has always been a vital concern for many educationalists, thus giving rise to a controversy over which kind of teaching pattern is the most appropriate for children who have different learning capacity.

Admittedly, big-class teaching is known as the most common way of teaching as it gives a facility to feasible team work activities, which not only cultivates a sense of cooperation and a sense of competition in students, but also teaches them a lesson about how to deal with peer pressure. These qualities are considered rather significant in an adolescent’s life. But for those who have high intelligence, the advantages just identified above do not hold water, due to the fact that they learn in a far fast pace than those normal ones do. The result of this is either that competent learners are demotivated or that incompetent ones are depressed.

However, reaching the conclusion that massive teaching is not advantageous for ingenious students does not mean that they should be classed into individual learning group. Instead, improving the downsides of teaching together pattern seems to be more relevant. This is because one to one teaching is proved likely to impede children’s development both mentally and physically, which are also of great importance in education. It is not a rare occurrence that closed learning environment results in difficulties in getting along with others as well as in facing challenges in future life. Additionally, a lack of P.E programe as normal classes do is the reason behind health problems of youth.

I therefore believe that acquiring abilities together provides opportunities to exploit learners’ potentials by arguing each other and learning from others, this is the best way for them to distinguish the strength and weakness from others’.
