(1)省略主语的I、you或 it 等

例如:- Where Roing? (= Where are you wing？)

- Looks like a real diamond. (= It bolts like a real diamond. )

- Must dash. (= l must dash. )

- Never heard of that. (= I've never heard of that. )

- Wonder what she's ding. (= I wonder what she's diong. )

- Couldn't understand what he wanted. ( I couldn't understand... )

- Say. Tom let's go and get a bit to eat. (=say. let's... )

- Bet! （=I bet ym.)

- Won't work. you know. (= It won't work... )

- May see you in a day or two. (= I may see you... )

- Sounds terrific. (= It sounds terrific. )

(2) 省略动词或是助动词

例如： - Want to go with me? (= fb You want to go with me?)

- Got me. pal. (' You've got me. my friend.你可把我给问住了，朋友)

(3) 省略宾语的 it 或 them

例如 : - Let me -ee. (= Let me see it. )

- Understand? (- Do you understand me?)

- Let me have a look. (= Let me have a look at it/ them. )

(4) 省略定冠词 the

例如: -Mt:ry told me she lives on fifth floor. (=… on the fifth floor. )

- It is January first today. (= it is January thefirst. )

(5) 省略 and/of

例如：

a pair true ers (= a pair of trousers)

a bottle beer (=a bottle of beer)

an hour a half (=an hour and a half)

a coffee ( = a cup of coffee)

(6) 省略介词 on 或 at

- I'm going to the museum Sunday aftetnoot.（= I'm going to the museum on Sunday afternoon. )

- Is he home? (= Is he at home?)
